hi,,,cud please anyone from senior members or mods tell me that: ecfmg has sent form 327A and also on oasis says that they have sent transfer credit transcript...................i have documented transfer credits......but i want to know that where they cud have possibly send the transfer credit transcript........im worried as the other school is in other country and i have no contact with anybody from there.................please help................

What can a USMLE applicant do when the ECFMG requires a photo but their school doesn't have one?
If the applicant for the USMLE exam is outside the country where their college is located, and the ECFMG is requesting a photo from the applicants' school but the school doesn't have pictures of their students, what other options are available for verification?

Graduation date confusion
Hi all..
I m an old IMG.. i completed MBBS from Jun 2002 to Nov 2006, then did internship from Feb 2007 to Feb 2008..
My degree certificate says "...duly qualified for MBBS in Nov 2006.."
But the degree certificate was signed in May 2008 by the univ authorities after i completed my internship...
So what will be the:
1)DATE YOU COMPLETED REQUIREMENTS FOR FINAL MEDICAL DIPLOMA.
2)GRADUATION DATE.
3)NUMBER OF YEARS ATTENDED.
Plz help...i m in middle of application..:confused:

No form 183 or 186 after completing online registration!

I have completed the online registration this morning and was on the verge of printing out the pdf files for form 187,344,345. But there is no accessible pdf files for both form 183 and 186. When I click the links for the forms a window appears mentioning that to get access to these forms, the online applications have to be completed using IWA (which in fact I have completed). So, what might be the problem?
N.B: I have read a similar post where it has been said that the applicant might have faced the problem as he did not mention whether he was an undergraduate/graduate. But I have mentioned I am an undergraduate during my online registration.

med school verification and assigned eligibility period
hello everyone, i just have a couple of questions. I have chosen the Oct-Dec eligibility period but my med school still hasnt verified my status yet. If they verify it this month before the 26th, which eligibility period will i be assigned? And if they verify it after the 26th of December, what will be my eligibility period then? Also, how soon after status verification do we get the scheduling permit?

2 forms 327 !! which one should i send?
I finally got the form 327 after waiting more than 3 months. But the ECFMG has recently sent a new form that I haven't received yet after waiting so much time . Should the medical school send the old one or we should wait to receive the new one ??

Change of testing region
Hi ,
Has anyone changed their testing region after registering for an exam and getting a permit? I head it can be done by sending a fax to the ECFMG,however i don't know how long that would take! I would be greatful if anyone who has gone through that procedure can guide me.

I have been confused about my step because I have heard that those students who are failed in their final prof of MBBS in any subject, are not eligible for To sit in usmmle exams.

well, i got the ECFMG identification number and i have paid (the $50 ) to register on the online application.. i am now trying to apply for the USMLE exam..but i am quiet confuse,
1. the item 2 asks me the eligibility period..do i have to decide it that early? i am not sure when i can take the exam right now..can i fulfill the required documents without choosing my eligibility period first? but, how can i get the "186 or 183 form" without choosing the egiligiblity period?
2. how can i know if my medical school has already registered at the EMSWP?because i don't know which form to choose (form 186 or 183)?
3. letter size is not commonly used in my country (though i can find some)..is it ok if i use mixed size paper (A4 and letter size paper)? i use the letter size for the diploma though
4. i don't really understand the use of form 187 , they said that we included it if we have any additional document to complete my document? what kind of additional document do they mean?
and also, should i not send this form if i send the form 186 or form 183 only?

No last name!
I have difficulty submitting my application for obtaining USMLE id i.e the IWA application.
As per my passport, I have a first name and a middle name. I do not have a Surname/Family name/Last name.
To clarify the above problem, Eg : The name is ABC XYZ.

How do I fill up the application? What should I enter in the last name field if I do not have a last name?

Name change procedure for ECFMG
Hello,
I am an IMG and am currently registered with ECFMG. I would like to request name change of my legal name-- I will go through all the necessary paperwork at my local courthouse. Will this be a complication for Ecfmg? Should I just fax a copy of the courtpapers showing the change in legal name or is it more difficult than that? My current name has my First, Middle, and Last name. With the name change I will substitute my last name with my middle name (so I will have no middle name). If anyone is familiar with the procedure please inform.

2 questions.
1. Does anyone know what kind of post mail service does ecfmg use regularly? So I can calculate when are the documents suppose to arrive to my med school...
2. Is ECFMG closed from the 1st to the 16th January? Meaning, Are they still processing documents or should we add 2 weeks to the expected time?

CK scheduling permit
Ive a verified form 186 on file valid for 4 more years from when i took step 1. Medical credentials were sent in early Nov they were confirmed received but resent back to my medical school because of some problem.
Ck application received and in process since Dec 7, still waiting for scheduling permit. Any idea how long it'll take ?

middle name question
my full name in ecfmg status is ANASTASIOS KOTTIKIAS(Item 6. Name of Applicant) and i see that all the forms require a middle name. my father's name is PANAGIOTIS.shall i continue as it is or do u think i have to change my name on ecfmg before i finish the online procedure?

OASIS Exam Date and IWA Permit Link!

I did my exam yesterday
On OASIS the exam date is blank and on IWA the permit and even the extension for the exam are available, is that normal ? when should they change ?
And will there be any delay in my score report because of Christmas and new year ?

Med school address or our home address?
Hello all,
I have a rather silly doubt regarding the application process.
As our application is to be sent for processing via our med college/school, do we have to enter our school address in the ecfmg certification form and the online application form? I am already a graduate.

Pls help !!!! Changing dates and eligibility period
Hi everyone,
I received the scheduling permit for my USMLE Step 1 exam today. After which I immediately visited the Prometric site to select a exam date. My slot is Jan, Feb, March. I wanted to give the exam on 27th March, but last week was full. So i had to take March 19th, Gurgaon, India
I want to ask you guys 3 things.
1. Do spots open on those last dates of March, in case someone cancels his/her appointment. If it does how do i know about that ?
2. When i was selecting exam date on March, the month of April, May didn't show any blue dates/open spots.
Does that mean all the dates on those 2 months are taken ? Or they didn't show it to me just coz they aren't in my slot ?
3. I may extend my study period by 2 weeks max. But what i want to be sure of is, if i extend the dates I want to be able to take the exam on the first 10days of April.
Will that be possible, because i have no idea of the April being full or empty in Gurgaon, India.
I hope to hear from you guys.
